Peaches U. Udoma, MA

Peaches specializes in Best Practices Consulting for grant writers and academic publishers, using her background in leadership training and effective communication and collaboration. She is known for being tenacious and undauntable in getting clients where they want to be. In the realm of management distress, she goes to the solution rather than dwelling in the land of the problem. She is a fast-moving train and will produce the desired result(s) in record time, interrupting the status quo. She brings a unique skill set, derived from her successes in academic and research environments and project management.

Her background in publications began in 1979, while still in high school, when she interned at the St. Petersburg Times. Fast forward to her first posts as writer, managing and contributing editor on higher ed publications and health sciences quarterlies, in 1984, and onward to university teaching posts and editing stints on newspapers and bimonthly publications. Her participation in human potential modalities and leadership began in 1994, and in 2002, she moved to the Boston area to work for Landmark Worldwide (then Landmark Education) as a program manager for seminars and communication courses for their leaders and teams. In 2005, she was hired at Tufts Medical Center (Boston), where she became the Senior Communications Editor for the Tufts Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies (including media relations coordination and liaison to the Office of External Affairs). Upon successfully managing the editorial process of the winning Tufts CTSA award from the National Center for Research Resources (now NCATS), in 2008, she moved into the role of Senior Grants Editor for the Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute (Tufts CTSI), remaining with Tufts until 2013. At Tufts she specialized in grant project management, effective collaborations, research leadership, grant and manuscript development, writing enhancement, editing, and grants coaching. Her grant and manuscript-success curriculum, Aiming for Success!©™ is now offered by Pro-CureHD at hospitals, universities, healthcare organizations, conferences, and industry settings across the U.S. and abroad — and continues to be offered at Tufts. Peaches received her MA in English (1989) from Northeastern University, with a focus on discourse analysis and composition theory and the teaching of writing.
